Merry Christmas Eve Everybody I have been having such an excellent time here in Canada with my family. From the minute I landed, Canada has been non-stop fun because of the activities and places we’ve gone to. We started off Day 1 watching a movie at the house. We watched “The Devil Wears Prada,” until like 3 am, but before that we (My brother and I) had an excellent gourmet dinner that was ready from the moment we entered the apartment. However, today’s movie night…

Day 1 consisted of going to the Halifax Shopping Center, as well as having family come over afterwards to just hang out and chill. And… In case you’re wondering, I bought a lot of clothes that were cheap and on sale for the holidays.

Day 2 was really nice and relaxing because I went downtown where it’s pretty much “city life” to visit my friend’s restaurant, as me and my uncle decided to walk around a little to enjoy the huge shopping facilities. After downtown’s extravaganza we (my uncle, brother, cousins and I) went to my aunt’s house for our second gourmet dinner, after which we played pool with my uncle, went shopping again, then came home and watched another movie.

Day 3 was sick! We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks II in the movie theaters, then we went out to eat at a delicious place called Dairy Queen that served me my marshmallow sundae and other yummy sweets (omg were they were yummy)… I have such a sweet tooth . Then after that we went home to change our clothes because there was a hefty snow blizzard occurring, but even the snow blizzard didn’t stop us from going out. Oh yes!!! We built a SNOWMAN and had Snowball fights. It was like ten of us having snowball fights and rolling around in the snow. We are so close to going sledding, oh yes I’m talking about dog Sledding.

Day 4 It’s Christmas Eve!!! Merry Christmas to Canada and New York. Today was fun because I got to witness something I never thought I would witness. I witnessed my first Soboh (The Celebration of a new born baby) It was one big Middle Eastern party, that consisted of Arabic dancing, singing, food and baby pink decorations, which was set up with baby décor. While all this happens, the crowd awaits the baby to come down with the mother and grandmother. After this happens they walk around a table in circles with the baby as everybody makes really loud noises by cheering, hooting, hollering, screaming and clapping. It was such an amazing event. It was really fun, different and exciting to watch/attend.

Day 5 So it’s Christmasss!!! Yay!!! Merry Christmas everyone!!! I spent a wonderful day in Halifax, Canada with my family. I woke up late and spent an awesome morning with the family. We ate breakfast with the entire family. Then we topped off our day with just hanging out with family at the house, after which we met at the movie theater and saw “It’s complicated!!!” This movie put the cherry on top!! Then later at night we had time for gift exchanging.

I’m glad you enjoyed my stories, will you keep you filled in. <3

Christmas Vacation (12-21-09)

Hey Ya’ll !!! I’m on the Flight right now going to Halifax, Canada. I literally brought my computer with me so I can share with you my flight details and Christmas vacay. So to start off this Journal entry, I gotta tell ya, I’m on the smallest plane ever (I feel like I’m in a private jet for celebs lol). The seating on the plane fits like 20-25 people at most. To me this is insane because I’m used to being on 747’s and 777’s. Besides the capacity and size of this plane I’m super excited about the trip for many reasons.

The first being that I love to fly, visit family and be in another country. I am the type of person who gets dressed up and decked out when I fly because I love to enter a new place and have all the people wonder about me. In the past I used to love sitting in the seat closest to the aisle, but nowadays I have been begging for a window seat. I love a nice view, especially one that overlooks New York from 35,000 feet up.

Moreover, I’m so excited because I am buying time on the plane by telling you guys about the where, what, why, when and how all the time. So the Where, When and How were already mentioned to you earlier, however the Why I am going is simple; my cousins, aunt, and uncle live there. Crazy (:>) enough, they used to live in Saudi Arabia and now they live in Canada, not too far from me. Now for What I’m going to be doing there, I don’t know yet, but all I know is it’s going to be a wintery Christmas from now until the 26th of December of my vacay duration. <3

I am excited to see my cousins, uncle and aunt because I rarely get to see the rest of my family because they all live in Egypt. I am even more excited because it’s the first time I’m spending the holidays with the rest of my family. I am going to enjoy quality time with them and go to every place I can visit during my 5 day holiday vacay. We plan on going downtown, the mall, the park, museums (like the stuffed bears and moos natural museum, the titanic exhibit and art galleries.) Additionally, I’m more excited about feeling the cold weather, playing with the snow and just living the life of a Canadian, living in the mountains for 5 days.

Can’t wait to write about more of my Vacay!! For now, I’m still on the plane and will be for the next hour and a half. I’ll keep you posted.

Love you <3,

By now you should have a little bit of an idea formulated in your head about me; however I feel like it’s important to introduce to you My Roots and Culture that I am so …

By now you should have a little bit of an idea formulated in your head about me; however I feel like it’s important to introduce to you My Roots and Culture that I am so proud of. I am extremely proud of this because of my distinctive heritage and culture. I have a lot of Egyptian pride because of my country’s history, (Ancient Egypt) as well as its Seven Wonders of the World, which I proudly visit every year. I love my culture because of the music, food, dancing and cultural traditions, like Ramadan, Hookah Smoking, Grand Family Gatherings and pretty much everything because it’s refined very differently.

Moreover, I think most of you are wondering about my siblings. Well, I have one younger brother who’s great to have around because nothing ever gets boring.

In the Egyptian culture everything is done differently including schooling, marriage, socialism and overall lifestyles. I love this because I’m very adaptable to change.

My parents have been the biggest influences in my life because they hold high expectations and expect the best at all times. Both my parents have the highest level of education and by that I mean they’re both Doctors. I was taught at a young age that family comes first; everything you do in life should be done in moderation; and of course, think before you do something!

I was raised to work hard, take initiative, be responsible, reliable and take ownership for everything I do in life. I was taught to never lie, cheat anyone, be respectful at all times and appreciate everything in my life. I was trained to have the utmost ethical and moral behavior. I was taught to be a strong fighter, after seeing the similar struggles my parents faced, which really stuck with me. My parents taught me the best lesson I could learn and that was “nothing comes handed to you in life.” I was taught to be assertive, efficient, and precise. Until this day I still feel like my parents are “Sergeant Parents “ the type who will mold you and keep you equipped with the “stuff” you’ll need in order to survive the war of life.

If you’re wondering where the personality comes from, “It’s Easy” My parents always had a positive attitude about everything. They turned me into the girl who has a lot to say (My dad taught me to always speak up. Stand for what you believe in). I am a funny girl who possesses a great sense of humor because my dad is known for his “jokester” ways. I am down to earth, pleasing and humble because my mom has always been that way. She’s the type of mother who drops everything in order to cater the world to you and that’s how I get my compassionate side, along with so many more qualities you have got to witness.

Everyday, I am thankful for having the most amazing parents ever. <3 <3

There’s still so much more!! Stick around Fan Crew!

~ Miram

“The Power of Positivity can extrude Negativity”
-Miram-

Hey Everybody ***Smiles***, I’m back to share more of my JUICY stories. As you’re probably already thinking, “She’s fierce!!” (LOL). Well, after reading this journal you’ll be convinced I’M FIERCE. Today I want to shine some light on the ruthless and severe struggles I have encountered, which have truly made me who I am today, literally! This story is goosebumpingly shocking. (People who know what I’ve been through find it hard to believe I’m still alive)…

As you know, I’m an Egyptian Muslim girl who was born in New Jersey, but what you didn’t know about me was the “cruelty” of childhood. The “impossible to believe childhood,” and Yes! I’m talking about the worst part of life because of how people made me feel helpless, alone and miserable. For half of my life I was tormented, badly teased, discriminated, hated, despised and abused by everybody who knew I was a Muslim girl. 9-11 changed my life and really made things unbearable for me.

As a little kid who didn’t see anything wrong with herself I was treated like a terrorist and radical. (I hate to say this, but even the black kids hated me.) I was the only Egyptian Muslim girl at my school and apparently that wasn’t good enough. Everybody hated me, people wanted to kill me, and others went out of their way to really break me. I was the girl who had textbooks thrown at my face; I was spat at, beat up, jumped, threatened and was treated like I was “subhuman”. I was the girl who ate alone everyday at the lunchroom and had food thrown at me (food fights). I was the girl who people tried to run over (with their cars), who got buried in snow and had my house egged, I was the girl who’d walk down the hall and heard every discriminatory, racist cruel word there ever was, every literal second. I was called a sand ndigger, camel jockey and terrorist. I was told I belonged in hell and I don’t deserve to live. I had people kick me, slap me and say to me, “immigrant, bitch, slut, whore, cunt, towel head, shit stain and you should be deported. I had no life and I felt as if I was badly shattered. I would cry myself to sleep and throw tantrums at myself for not being the perfect blonde white girl who had all the friends in the world.

Even though it continued to happen through 11th grade, I never let any of it get to my surface. (and my God was it hard)… I got involved in every sport I could, which helped lift my self-esteem and feelings. I played basketball, softball, field hockey, swimming, volleyball, and ice hockey. I got involved in club activities to stay positive and went to a recreational boys and girls club. I stayed so strong and did whatever I felt was going to break me “out of my shell.” When I was younger, I was shy and never felt I deserveved a voice, I was a speechless girl wrapped around all the negative words that were said to me. I was the girl who even after all this happened, stayed optimistic, constructive and active; in order to keep my mind off of the misery I was dealing with. I was taken out of my shell from the minute I knew, “No-one thought I was good enough”

Today, I am the most powerful person I know. I’m so appreciative of the fact that I went through that because if it weren’t for it, I would be weakest person I know and not the strongest. I am the girl who never says No! I am the girl who’d make you give up, I am the girl who’s now called a “Triple Threat.” I am the girl who they say is miraculous.

Everybody who knows me now and knows what I’ve been through, no longer questions why I’m a Wonder Woman, a Superstar, impossible to describe, passionate, a fighter, Strong, a leader, powerful and intense… I am pretty intense lol but only in a good way. I am who I am because of my past and I wouldn’t change a single thing, because I am what I am for being brave, strong, thick skinned, and most important influential

P.S I’m the girl you’ll never be able to duplicate! God Bless!!!!! <3

This week has been unforgettable. It’s been that way because I’ve been able to network with some very powerful people in the entertainment industry. Just the other day, executives and VPs from companies including NBC, MTV, CBS, WPIX, Cox Radio, ABC News, Fox, Fox News, Gotham, NY1, Comcast, Clear Channel Radio and more were all under one roof giving students like myself an opportunity to learn about the business and how to get ahead. I was able to meet each of these companies individually and hand them my resume and say to them, “I am looking for on-air jobs.”

All of the companies gave me email addresses and contact numbers in order to stay in touch. The following day I emailed them all with a thank you note. The day of the event, everyone I had met supported my dream of being the next “big thing” like a Tyra, Ellen, or Oprah, while many wanted me to follow up with them on Monday, the next business day. Now, I have three interviews next week and I might potential get a shot to show these people what I’m made of!!! Besides this awesome event, I went on a movie audition for the film “Fathers Day” followed by eventful parties, where I was able to get interviews from people… and I mean people who are talented or who can share interesting stories that people will relate with.

Also, I was recently offered to walk the red carpet and be a spokeswoman for the night at the Ronald McDonald house. I went to another magazine release party and met a well known renowned TV producer named Glen Meeham, several accomplished film directors and more. To top off my glamorous week I met a big shot photographer, who has shot supermodels, actors, celebrities and famous people… he offered to shoot me after saying “I likes your look” (OMG) then later during that week I was approached by my team’s publicist who was going to try to get me to host a Muslim fashion show taking place in NYC.

At this point, I’m elated and really feel like this is all happening for a reason. Everyone I’m meeting is supportive, happy, and excited for me. Even the people I’ve met just once say they’d give me a talk show right now if they could. I’ve had two businessmen who I met on the train tell me in less then 45 minutes, “I promise you; you’ll have your own talk show.” Well, guess what… Oprah just announced she’s leaving and I’m 99.9999999999999% positive I will be her replacement. I’m influential to the people I meet in 3 minutes.  Imagine the damage I could do if I had a whole hour show!!  =}

I’m sad to hear the news yet happy as hell because this is it… Channel 7 is gonna be looking for new potential talk show host candidates and I can’t wait. I might be the one they choose!

If they ever had an audition for that, I’d be on line for weeks, months, maybe even years before the audition date… I am not kidding!

Love you guys… talk to you soon!!!

Sooo today…. And everyday from now until Christmas, is hectic. Although I have been working 16 hours a day, I’ve still got some good news. My week started off amazingly because I had off from school due to thanksgiving, I enjoyed Black Friday and took advantage of all the deals… and to top it all off I had my holiday EID party (in celebration for Ramadan) which was celebrated by a huge ballroom event with delicious food, exciting entertainment, like Arabic music, games, and Oh YES Dancingggg Whoa!!!

This was so cool because I got to spend time with Egyptians. (Love it) The party felt like a really BIG family reunion. I also booked an interview with a celeb make-up artist, filmed another interview-show with a certified dating and relationship coach and also got booked for a fashion show called, “Beauty and the Beast” (who happens to be a different celeb MUA). This Monday, I have an interview with NY1, a corporation who may be interested in giving me on-air job. My job would entail going out and interviewing people… AHHHHHH !!! (I was born to do that HELLO lol)…

Then, I have two appointments, one with a HUGE photographer James Weber…. His work is immaculate (So important) building my book is KEY to anything in entertainment (my kind of entertainment). People are interested in seeing your dynamics (I have plenty). As usual, I am still interning for Rachael Ray, which is going superbly and eventually they’ll hire me and see my talents and offer me my own show. (I dream BIG, never small) there is a lot to learn but not all in one day… You’d get exhausted. So for now, stay intrigued… love you <3

~ Miram

I literally wake up every morning feeling like a celebrity! I ask myself what are some of the things I can do to help reach that point. So I think… and act optimistic, which is like second nature to me, and so I continue to be more of what’s natural for me and that’s – powerful, enriched, motivated, driven, positive, admirable, and ambitious. I love the fact that I’m dreamful and hungry for what I find to be very passionate to me (Talk Show Hosting).

I wake up everyday thinking, “Why am I stranger to Hollywood and the public eye.” For everyone who knows me it’s “hard to believe I am.” I as well as others compare my strengths and personality to a lion, a tough mammal to defeat and a fighter of his/her jungle. The world is my jungle and I’m one of many lions to fight for what I know is my treasure (Talk Show Hosting); a passion that influences and touches the hearts and souls of all human beings; every race, age, and gender.

Astrologists say I’m a Leo, known for intensity, way too much energy, liveliness, power, toughness, dominance, sway, sophistication, style, confidence and the list goes on forever. I describe myself as extremely unique, exotic, different, striking; not to mention the fact that I’m easily approachable, yet still I rarely put my guard up.

A big part of who I am is being prone to diversity, learning to accept what everybody has a hard time doing, and that’s being different. Different enough to the point where you’re accepting, understanding, helping, caring, and loving. I’ve been that way to everyone because it presents the world with my “rich personality.” A personality likes mine that is just so welcoming, and of course that makes me what I am, “a true character of all the good that God’s ever created.”

I feel like I can really change the world for the best with better advice that Oprah, Ellen and Tyra have given in the past.

I want to be known for making things “Right.” I want my talk show to be the remedy for people’s problems, questions, curiosity, and doubtfulness… whether it deals with a break-up, weight loss/gain, a tragedy, a fear, etc.

So watch and see, and experience Miram!

If I could get to be any character in a movie, a perfect role for me to play as an actress would be a detective, investigator, or an FBI agent. I would love to play the role of Jodie Foster in “Silence of the Lambs” or a TV role like Catherine Willows in CSI Las Vegas. I love dramatic crime scene investigating and mystery movies, so “Silence of the Lambs” is my all time favorite mystery movie. As a teenager, I was obsessed with mystery crime series. I fantasized myself to be an FBI agent solving crimes, or hunting down the bad guys. Even now, it’s still the type of movie that I love to watch. I think it’s the collest and most intense character to be. I would say I’m a very cheerful and happy person. So to be able to play a role that is totally different from my personality, I think it would be a lot of fun and extremely challenging, and I love the challenge. As an actor, nothing is better than pushing yourself to the limits and becoming a completely new character!
