Anna Pitchouguina, Designer

Anna Pitchouguina

Born far away in a beautiful city called Niznij Novgorod in the middle of Russia, Anna moved to Poland some years ago to settle down and start formal education. Whilst officially living in Gdynia in the north of Poland, she is now based in Lodz, caught between Lodz and Warsaw. At first she studied Economics at the University of Gdansk and then Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. But, having decided that fashion is the one and only path for her, she now studies Fashion Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, considered to be the best fashion school in Poland. If that wasn’t enough, Anna also studies at The International School of Costumography and Fashion Design in Warsaw, where she was awarded a scholarship and given an opportunity for more “market-focused” education.

Mainly concentrating on womenswear, Anna is a confident and competent designer within her field. Her designs often focus around the flowery, girly and romantic, with an added edge of sweetness. Special attention is given to creating wearable clothing but, since the aesthetic is not yet fully established, there is still scope for some contrasting collections.

In her own words…

“I am a young, energetic fashion designer who is striving to make a name for herself in the fashion world. Although there is still a long way to go, I have been making good progress, having taken part in many fashion contests in Poland. In October 2008 I was able to hold my very first fashion show during Maska Fashion Night in the centre of the Old Town in Warsaw, with the support of the editor-in-chief of online fashion base www.modowo.pl . However, I knew this was only the start and that I had to keep on moving. Now I collaborate with Berlin-based designers, talented photographers all over Poland and soon I hope to make headway in New York. I also sponsor So Tacky (www.sotackymag.com ), an online lifestyle magazine based in The Netherlands, and I sell one-off pieces both online and in independent boutiques.”
